Nationwide Marketing won the ENERGY STAR Excellence in Promotion Award for the second straight year for its efforts to protect the environment and conserve energy.
The award was presented by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE).
"NMG will continue to do all of the things we have been doing and more," says Richard Weinberg, national merchandise manager of appliances for Nationwide.
"We are currently involved in several new energy projects, things are in motion and we are already seeing real results.”
Nationwide was one of 21 organizations recognized for their outstanding work in promoting energy efficiency.
According to ENERGY STAR, in 2007 these organizations helped save over $16 billion in energy costs and prevented 40 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions – equivalent to the annual emission of 27 million vehicles.
"By working closely with energy efficiency program sponsors throughout the country, we are strengthening the message to our member dealers of the consumer and environmental benefits associated with the presentation and sale of ENERGY STAR qualified products," explains Weinberg.
"We have made sure that all of our member dealers have access to the most current ENERGY STAR information all year round."
"We view our partnership with ENERGY STAR as a win-win-win for our manufacturing partners, member dealers, consumers and the environment."
